Our Story

From the stage to the source.

A charity born from a simple idea: the music that moves Canadian crowds can build futures in the communities it comes from.

The Afrobass Foundation is a registered Canadian charity, founded in 2024 and based in Toronto. We were created to answer a question that had been building for years: what if the celebration of African music could give something lasting back to the places that created it?

Where we come from

For years, our partners at Afrobass Inc have been connecting Canadian audiences with the biggest names in African music — touring artists coast to coast and turning concert halls into a meeting point between two cultures. Night after night, fans showed up for the sound. And night after night, a bigger possibility came into focus.

The artists we host come from communities full of talent but short on opportunity. The Foundation exists to close that gap — to make sure the energy of a sold-out show in Toronto translates into a classroom, a clean well, or a brighter future in the artist's home country.

What we do

We turn live music into lasting impact. Working in partnership with Afrobass Inc, proceeds from tours and events help fund the Foundation's charitable work. Those funds are directed toward initiatives in the African countries our artists call home — and toward community needs here in Canada.

Our focus areas are simple and fundamental:

  • Schools & education — building schools and funding the resources young people need to learn and grow.
  • Clean water & wells — developing clean-water infrastructure for communities that lack it.
  • Community development — investing in the environment, infrastructure, and essentials that help communities thrive.

Where we're going

As a new charity, we're at the beginning of our journey. We haven't broken ground yet — but every show, every ticket, and every donation moves us closer to our first projects. We're building the support today that will become real schools and real wells tomorrow.

This is our first chapter. We'd love for you to be part of it.
